Bollywood's hottest sexual encounters

Gone are the days when a love making scene in India was symbolized through pecking pigeons or swaying flowers. It’s the age of real cinema and today actors and directors want to give a real feel to their cinematic characters. The viewer is the winner at the end.

Not just in style and substance, Bollywood has also evolved a lot in sensuality. Moral police is a thing of the past and even the censor board has become considerate. So today we present the ten best love-making sequences that Bollywood has seen in the past decade .

We have tried to make a list as per our own outlook. With hundreds of films releasing every year, chances are we might have missed some better ones. We would surely love to read your list of 10 too. Also let us know if this feature interests you so much so that you would also like to read more about Bollywood’s best love-making scenes listings in earlier decades...

On to the list...

Aishwarya Rai always had Hollywood aspirations and her first extremely intimate moment also came in a foreign film. The film was Mistress of Spices and Ash clearly spiced by the scene with her close encounter with actor Dylan McDermott. Directed by Paul Mayeda Berges, husband of Gurinder Chadha, the scene was aesthetically shot as Dylan unrobed Aishwarya is a red sari (for the Indian effect) over a sleeveless blouse and a waist belt.

It was John’s first film and Bipasha too was relatively new. When the film released, Bips had just spilt from earlier love Dino Morea. The new-built chemistry with John Abraham was to be seen to be believed. The duo was hot as hell and indulged in a love-making scene inspired from Hot Shots 2 , though minus the fun plus the seduction. There was some navel caressing and ice-cube chills over it.

The scene made Mallika Sherawat an overnight star and gave Bhatts their biggest hit till date. Murder was a clear rip-off of Richard Gere’s Unfaithful and even the love-making scene was an exact replica from the original. That made it steamier since Hollywood usually has no inhibitions and relatively newcomer Mallika tried to overcome her apprehensions with an ultimate intimate scene opposite Emraan Hashmi.

Mira Nair had earlier directed an entire film revolving around sex in love – Kamasutra . She is a complete pro at handling any lovemaking scene. So that one moment of intimacy that she wanted to show between the newly married Tabu and Irrfan Khan in The Namesake to establish their marital bonding was very aesthetically shot. They indulged in a lip-lock and some embracing but at no point did it look vulgar.

Another female filmmaker from India, settled abroad happens to be Deepa Mehta. And her films always revolved around controversial topics. When she started with Fire , the first time that Indian audiences knew about lesbianism, it was much of an eye-stopper. This love-making scene had Nandita Das and Shabana Azmi indulge into more that what was ever shown on the Indian screen and that too amongst the same gender. The scene resulted both in controversy and commercial success of the film.

Kamal Haasan is known for the explicit content in his film. And it’s always he who indulges into sexual episodes. In Hey Ram , he had a very erotic scene with Rani Mukerji. The smooch scene was way beyond imagination and later Haasan even bites her A*s-cheeks (though over the sari). Hey Ram had Rani Mukerji at her sexiest best.

Not many would know of such a scene because they never heard of the film. And those who saw the film never forgot it for this particular scene between Sushmita Sen and Mithun Chakravarthy. Sushmita played a small-village prostitute in the film and Mithun played a religious guru who came to Sushmita to quench his sexual thirst. Mithun expressed his lust through his eyes and the scene in which he gets intimate with Sushmita was bold and brash.

One wouldn’t have imagined Rekha going to extents to which she actually ventured in Basu Bhattacharya’s Aastha . The film show Rekha as a simple middle-class woman who dreams of a lavish lifestyle. But when her professor husband (Om Puri) isn’t able to give her the luxuries, she resorts to illicit ways of living her fairytale life.

Salaam Namaste was a film about live-in relationships and obviously that would result into love-making. Preity Zinta and Saif Ali Khan showed some splendid chemistry in the film and had an intimate love-making scene which was underplayed tastefully in the film and its promotions. Perhaps that’s why not many might remember the scene but this is worth a mention.
